Vlad Dracul was the ruler of Wallachia between 1436 and 1442 and from 1443 to 1447.
Member of the Basarab family and son of Mircea the Elder. The Lord of Wallachia was vassal of the king of Hungary.
He was also a border commander with the responsibility to protect trade and trade routes between Wallachia and Transylvania for the Roman Catholic Church.
Although Vlad II was in favor of the Catholic Church, it is known that he killed members of the rival line of the Basarabes, the Danesti family.
